Take.1 Are You There? Is the first part of the second full-album by the Korean hip-hop group MONSTA X. The album was released on October 23rd along with their title song SHOOT OUT. According to Starship Entertainment, Where Are You follows the seven boys their journey to self discovery.
There are songs in this album that were written for the fans, like “I Do Love U” and “By My Side”.
A large part of the songwriting and composing has been done by the members themselves, especially by the two rappers I.M and Jooheon. Wonho also had his fair share in producing and songwriting.
The album follows the story of contrasts, of light and dark and self-discovery. When asked about the album the boys' responses were that this album is a sexy and dark album that follows the concept of duality. They also noted their excitement and worry for this album, since it’s been a long time since their last official Korean comeback.
Looking at the MV of their title track Shoot Out, it seems that the new album has references to The Seven Deadly Sins. This concept is perfect because there are seven members, it’s unclear who has what sin. It seems that they’ve kept the Christian sins: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride.
